On the occasion of its 10-year anniversary, YELL (Young English Language Learners) organised a workshop for students and teachers to celebrate the joint educational research and use of YELL.
About 110 teachers and students attended the meeting in Udine, more than half of them using the LearnWeb platform developed by L3S to do some search tasks.
Overall, there was a lot of positive feedback regarding the workshop and also YELL. This is what some of the participants had to say:
“I found this project very interesting and important to introduce us to different activities, videos and articles, to find articles that we can use in our classes in the future.”
“I really enjoyed the meeting on 5 April 2022, I learned many interesting things that I found very useful and valuable for my future as a foreign language teacher. I also appreciated the activities on the LearnWeb platform and the platform itself with all its resources, and I think I will continue to use it during my studies and teaching career.”
“Very useful website, full of interesting and creative resources. Thank you for the opportunity to learn something new!”
YELL is a virtual environment open to language teachers, student teachers, university lecturers, teacher trainers and anyone who cares and is interested in second/foreign language learning for children, young people, and university students. In doing so, it promotes collaboration across educational contexts: It is a virtual meeting place where users can share ideas, resources, and information about English as a second or foreign language. YELL is supported by the LearnWeb platform developed by the L3S Research Center – Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany).
