DAAD scholar from Perth researches at L3S for three months

Dr. Guanjin (Brenda) Wang is a Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. Since December, she has been at L3S Research Center as a fellow of The Postdoctoral Networking Tour in Artificial Intelligence (Postdoc-NeT-AI), a DAAD initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The goal is to offer scientific talents from all over the world a personalized gateway to the German AI research community. Hosted by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl and Dr. Nicolás Navarro-Guerrero, Dr. Wang will continue her research at L3S until late February. Dr. Wang specializes in AI, machine learning and deep learning, and their interdisciplinary applications such as medical machine learning and precision agriculture. Her recent work explores innovative approaches to learning from complex, imperfect data and learning environments, advancing model explainability and human-centred AI. She received the Google Inclusion Research Award and Google Academic Research Award.
