The Future Lab Society & Work at the Centre for Digital Innovations Lower Saxony (ZDIN) has presented the results of its research at a final symposium. Scientists, business representatives, and decision-makers from politics and industry discussed the impact of digitalisation on the world of work.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr Wolfgang Nejdl, spokesperson for the Future Lab and Executive Director of the L3S Research Centre, highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the project: “We have deliberately designed the Future Lab Society & Work to be highly interdisciplinary, allowing us to integrate different perspectives on digitalisation into our research and to consider the changes in societal developments and work processes in a holistic manner.”
The key topics of the event included Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital skills. The presented research findings indicate that technological innovations are only successful when accompanied by strategies for sustainable integration and targeted qualification measures.
The symposium emphasised the importance of cooperation between science, business, and politics. ZDIN will use the insights gained to further drive digital transformation in Lower Saxony. The research findings are now available to interested parties as an impetus for further developments.
