WSDM 2025: International Conference on Web Search and Data Mining kicks off in Hannover 

L3S is hosting the 18th ACM International Conference on Web Search and Data Mining (WSDM), starting on 10 March in Hannover. The renowned conference brings together leading experts from academia and industry to present and discuss the latest research results in web search, data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The conference will take place at the Hannover Congress Centre (HCC) until 14 March 2025 and will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl and Prof. Dr. Sören Auer.

The WSDM 2025 programme covers a wide range of current topics, including

  • Web of Things, ubiquitous and mobile computing
  • Privacy, fairness and interpretability
  • Social networks
  • Intelligent assistants
  • Crowdsourcing and human computing

A particular highlight of the conference is the keynotes by renowned experts:

  • Slav Petrov, Vice President of Research at Google DeepMind, will discuss the current state of artificial intelligence.
  • Prof Mario Fritz, Professor at the CISPA Helmholtz Centre, will give a keynote speech on the security of LLMs and AI agents.
  • Prof. Roberto Navigli, Professor at the Sapienza University of Rome, will discuss the language comprehension capabilities of large language models.

In addition to high-calibre presentations, workshops and tutorials, the conference will offer numerous opportunities for professional exchange.
