The Director of L3S, Prof. Dr Wolfgang Nejdl, has been appointed as a Principal Investigator (PI) at the German Center for Lung Research (DZL). His appointment was approved by the DZL Board of Directors, allowing Prof. Nejdl to actively contribute to research projects within the DZL network.
Prof. Nejdl has now been assigned to the working groups “Asthma & Allergies” and “Artificial Intelligence & Digital Tools.” This allocation reflects his interdisciplinary expertise and opens up new opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence in lung research.
With his admission to DZL, Prof. Nejdl gains access to the network’s extensive research resources and can collaborate with other leading scientists. A particular focus will be on integrating AI-supported methods into medical research and using digital tools to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities.
DZL membership requires active participation in scientific activities, including annual meetings and interdisciplinary research projects. In this context, DZL warmly invites Prof. Nejdl to attend the DZL Annual Meeting 2025 in Heidelberg.
