GRAPHIA

Knowledge Graphs, Al Services and Next Generation Instrumentation for R&D in Social Sciences and Humanities

GRAPHIA improves research in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) with the help of Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Graphs and Open Science. By creating the first comprehensive SSH Knowledge Graph (SSH KG) enriched with Al and Large Language Models (LLMs), GRAPHIA makes SSH data more machine-readable and improves the visualisation, analysis and extraction of knowledge.

A key innovation is the SSH Citation Index, an advanced framework for extracting citation data across all SSH disciplines that accelerates access to previous research. GRAPHIA brings together five SSH projects (OPERAS, ERIH-S, EHRI, GGP, and RESILIENCE) of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRIs) with eight private sector organisations that combine academic and industrial expertise. This collaboration improves public research infrastructures (RIs) and opens up new business opportunities while ensuring that high-quality research data benefits science and public policy. GRAPHIA promotes innovation in knowledge graphs, Al and LM technologies and addresses misinformation, ethical data use and sustainability issues. The project aims to improve data quality, actionability and interoperability of SSH data and accelerate knowledge sharing and industry- orientated applications.
