Agenda

  1. Define responsabilities (by modifying the table above)
    • Eclipse: How Eclipse can support software development from requirements analisys to testing
    • SVN Eclipse plugin: How SVNs can help in collaborative development (update, commit, conflict resolution…)
  2. For the ones working on Eclipse
    • (General introduction on Eclipse: perspectives, views and its plugin-based architecture)
    • Find out plugins which can support in the requirement analisys, try them out and pick up the one you like the most
    • Find out plugins which can support in the architectural design, try them out and pick up the one you like the most
    • Find out Eclipse's support to (Java) programming (the “Java” perspective, the “Package Explorer” view, facilities for code style and refactoring, support to the build path…)
    • Find out Eclipse's support to (javadoc) documentation
    • Find out Eclipse's support to testing (the “Debug” perspective, breakpoints and variable inspection, the built-in support to JUnit)
  3. For the ones working on the SVN Eclipse plugin
    • Perform points 2. and 3. of the agenda
    • Find out an Eclipse plugin for SVNs, install it and read its documentation
    • Start Eclipse and select the “SVN Repository Exploring” perspective
    • Open the “SVN Repository” view
    • Right-click in the “SVN Repository” view: select “New” –> “Repository Location…”
    • Click on “Checkout…”
    • Click on “Finish”
    • Try to add and remove files from the project you just checked out. Get used with updating and committing. Try out what happens if two people concurrently modify the same files.
  4. Send me a first version of your presentation as soon as possible (ideally by Monday, the 21st)
